About
Konstantin Flegelskamp is a 34-years old producer and multi-instrumentalist, based in Cologne (Germany) and Los Angeles (California, USA). Konstantin has been performing the saxophone live his entire professional life but now moved his workspace mostly to the studio. His productions range from pop- and dance-tracks to down-tempo ambient music, Jazz, Soul and Funk, always combining electronic elements and modern production techniques with acoustic sounds and "handmade" recordings. With more than 200 million streams, Konstantin is the most played saxophone player in the world of music streaming. TV- and Filmmusic have been a fascination to him since a teenage-internship in the industry.
Context / My personal story
I was born & raised in the very west of Germany in 1989. When my parents gifted me a saxophone in the age of nine, non of us knew it will become my key to the world. Consequently, Jazz became my first real passion and the first purchases of my life were Charlie Parkers "Ornithology" album and a Charles Mingus DVD.
Soon Piano became my 2nd instrument to learn, not much later I borrowed a guitar, bass and drumset just to play them every day.
In the age of 15 I joined a Reggaeband and first experienced the sweet taste of tour-life. We travelled Europe and I got the opportunity for an internship at my idols production studio which was specialized in film- and TV-music.
In 2008, in the time i finished school, I started producing electronic music and booked my own solo-gigs. I studied Saxophone and Piano before I graduated a master in Music Management in Newcastle, UK.
In the meantime opportunities as a live musician on several TV-shows for charting artists (Rita Ora, Holly Johnson, Caro Emerald and many more) came up. Since 2015 my focus has been the Deep-House/Electronic-Pop act SAXITY and developing a strong label- and promotion structure on streaming services. Over the past years we created a large catalogue of electronic-, instrumental-, and lounge-music that is being streamed over 500.000 times daily. This catalogue is constantly evolving and being enlarged.
Not music, but love has lead my lifepath to California where music and fillm are intertwined and omnipresent. While going back and forth between the continents I am excited to work in a new field of music business and looking for opportunities in the TV- and Filmmusic industry.
